Phillies fans celebrate wildly in street after reaching World Series
Philadelphia couldn’t hold it in after ending a 13-year World Series drought.
After the Phillies topped the Padres 4-3 in Game 5 of the NLCs at Citizens Banks Park to punch their ticket to the World Series, fans went wild in the streets, climbing poles and chugging beers.

Philadelphia officials reportedly greased up poles ahead of Sunday’s game, but fans still found a way to scale them.
Video shows crowds chucking up beers to fans mounted on the poles. One crazed fan, in particular, stood on top of a pole and shotgunned at least seven beers, according to Philly Inquirer’s Stephanie Farr

The Philadelphia faithful got so bonkers cops began to block off the streets with mounted units and that eventually led to their disbursement, according to the Inquirer.
The Phillies will take on the winner of the Astros and Yankees series later this week in their first World Series appearance since 2009.
